Comprehensive Upgrade in Corrosion-Resistant Flange Fittings — New Materials and Processes Set a New Industry Standard

2025-12-15

In recent years, industrial transportation systems have been moving toward more demanding environments involving higher salinity, stronger chemical concentrations, and increased operating pressures. Traditional Carbon Steel and standard stainless-steel flanges no longer fully meet the requirements for long-term stable operation. To address these challenges, leading manufacturers have launched new corrosion-resistant flange series based on materials such as2205, 2507, and S32750.

Industry data shows that compared with conventional materials, these upgraded flanges offer several significant advantages:

  • 2–3 times higher corrosion resistance, particularly ideal for systems with elevated chloride or sulfide content;

  • High strength combined with excellent toughness, reducing deformation and leakage risks during operation;

  • Extended service life, significantly lowering downtime, maintenance, and replacement costs.

Industry experts emphasize that as safety requirements increase in offshore engineering, seawater desalination, and chemical equipment sectors, duplex and super-duplex stainless-steel flanges are expected to gradually replace traditional materials, becoming the dominant trend in the next decade.

A senior technical director of Sichuan Baishuo Pipeline Co., Ltd. stated:
“By implementing advanced solution-annealing technology and automated forging equipment, our corrosion-resistant flanges deliver stable and reliable performance even in extreme environments involving high chloride, sulfur, and pressure levels. This new product line significantly enhances system reliability and extends the lifecycle of customer equipment.”

With the rapid adoption of new materials, the industry widely believes that upgraded corrosion-resistant flange products will bring safer and more efficient solutions to the global energy, chemical, and offshore sectors—accelerating the industry's shift toward higher quality standards.
